1998 Oak Samick Piano:

Samick

Founded 1958 in South Korea by a Baldwin distributor and is today one of the world’s largest piano manufacturer. Samick manufactures & distributes 4 lines of pianos in the US: Samick, Story & Clark, Conover Cable, Bernhard Steiner. The Samick brand consists of a lower priced line made in Indonesia, a regular line made in Korea and a higher priced Korean line called "World Piano". However EVEN the Indonesian made Samick pianos are considered "medium quality" NOT "Economy pianos". This medium quality group also contains Young Chang, Korean made Weber, and some Kawai. Economy pianos would be Pearl River, Nordiska, and Chinese made Weber.

OUR PIANO:

Our piano is model number SU-343 MS - a Korean made model since it starts with SU. The lower priced Samick pianos made in Indonesia begin their model # with JS. The cabinet is medium oak with ornate music desk & trim and decorator free standing front legs. It has all 3 pedals, the middle one softens the volume incase someone in the house is sleeping, on the phone or watching TV. That pedal can be moved into position to stay depressed until you move it out of position. The measurements are 43"H, 57"W, 22.5"D. It has a matching padded bench that opens to store music. We purchased it new from the dealer in September 1998. The piano tuner that has been servicing this piano is very impressed with it.
